Parliament of The Worlds Religions

 

The Parliament of world religions held in 1993 was the centennial celebration of the Parliament held in 1893. All Religions were invited to attend.

The document Toward a Global Ethic that has been on this site for some time now, is a product of this 1993 Parliament. The Source book is available (below)

Five years later in 1999 another Parliament was held in South Africa and was attended by a group of Ministry Outreach People. Pat and Kay, Larry and Jerry Hart, Fran and Hester Dornan, Kathy Smyth LaMorte, Ruth Martin, Mari Donaldson Carmen Garcia, Enzo Giustino and Rosa Diaz de Miranda

The Glen Rose Retreat in April 2000 was dedicated to The Parliament and the presenters were some of those who attended.

 

A number of other Glen Rose retreats were presented and facilitated by others who were connected in some way with the Parliament.

The Call to Education

·        ·         We are all one body; we need each other and every part of us

·        ·         Need to start with basic necessities of life (food, clothing, shelter,etc.)

·        ·         Have respect for diverse lifestyles, learning styles, family structures, body types, colors, sizes, smells

·        ·         Show examples of goodness in the world

·        ·         Realize that there is no standard education

The Call to Agriculture, Labor, Industry, Commerce
