Partners II March 19, 2011
Ministry outreach Partners II finished the last session of the current series at St Michael’s using Judy Cannato’s Fields of Compassion Chapter 7 on Meditation and Chapter 8 on Intention.
The opening Prayer used 2 Peter 1:3 where Our Gifts from God of faith, goodness, self control, patience, kindness and love are dependent on the others for you to be able to share on the divine nature.
Lively table and group discussion on chapters 7 and 8 provided no conclusions but of new insights for all.
The group then took part in a walking meditation, which was familiar to some new to others.
The last hour or so Sisters Pat and Kay asked the question,
What do the following words mean to “You” today?
Incarnation
Redemption
Resurrection
After many varied but mostly non-traditional thoughts Sisters Pat and Kay believed that if compiled this would provide a valuable source to be used in the future so if those who were in attendance and all of you who read these web sites would provide your thoughts either as a comment on the “Partners” MyFamily site or via e-mail to Partners90@aol.com we will put them together and share the information.

Field of Compassion By Judy Cannato
As a basis for discussion
Cannato puts the "new
cosmology"-the dialogue between the scientific and religious accounts of
the universe-in plain language and links it to Christian theology. Cannato
convincingly connects the so-called Universe Story-the scientific theories that
say all life is connected and evolving toward a "new consciousness"
of the oneness of all things-with the Christian story, especially the theology
of Karl Rahner and Jesus' teaching about a this-worldly kingdom of
God.
